As appear in Levi Marrero publication "Vaillant" is a French surname that
appear the first time in Oriente Cuba , zXVIII century.
I will tell you that emigration from Haiti , to Oriente was French people
that was living in Haiti , when war start . All of them was rich people or at
least important and cult people , and they influence to the Santiago de Cuba
culture.
Some authors said that the "campesinos" the comun people in Oriente , obtain
a culture non comun in this class of people.
