Hello again:

Sorry for sparking the recent email exchange with my query about French
refugees, but I was hoping that someone knowledgeable about CUBAN geneology
might offer some advice about locating useful CUBAN resources -- notarial
acts, land records, baptismal and/or civic records -- for the early 1800s
so that I may gain some information about my ancestors who were born in
CUBA in that period.

The records on microfilm that you can order through the Family History
Center (Church of Latter Day Saints) only include some indexes for Havana
church records ending 1622 and some partial extracts of Havana parish
registers (no date is listed in the description). Does anyone know if the
parish extracts are worth looking at?

Also, I can't find any mention of records for Baracoa or any census for any
area in Cuba that covers the period of the early 1800s.

Thanks to those who responded for your other suggestions relating to Saint
Domingue newsletters.

Best wishes for a happy New Year!
