"Ok, here's the scoop on the national archives. It is divided into sections
of archives that are indexed by notes cards. You find your family member and
record the information. ...With the Churches, I have called and found a lot of
information. ...Be insistent when you can. If the phone lines ever come up
again.
Call it really helps get a name and continue to follow up with that person.
Best of luck, Jorge Gregorisch"

Thank you, Jorge, for this information. I am hoping to try to call some
churches and possibly even visit the National Archives/local civil
registries for this book project I am working on, and this news is very
helpful. I am looking into the early 1800s and I don't have dates for
births/deaths/marriages. Do you know if you can search by surname only? I
would like to get as much information as possible beforehand.

Thanks!

Bliss
