Hi Marie,
I agree, the translators give you an idea but they only translate words, not
meanings and the result of it can be either very funny or offensive.
If this people use them to understand what is being said, OK, but they will
need a lot of imagination.
I tell you I have a lot of it and needed my time to figure out what my
friend was trying to ask for.
If this people uses the translators to send letters, then BE CAREFUL.
About Gallego it's a language on it's own as well as the other I mentioned
in my yesterday e-mail.
I do speak Catalan and Spanish and can read books in both languages. I could
also understand something written in Gallego, but I would have some problems
for I've never studied it, It's much similar to Portuguese than to Spanish,
but if I get something written in Vasc, I can understand NOTHING at all.
This is a Country with 4 different languages, though everybody speaks
Spanish.
