In the book "Mis Primeros Treinta Años" by General Manuel Piedra Martel, he
describes the battle in Cacarajicara. The place is in Pinar del Rio
province in the old municipio of Cabañas, near Bahia Honda on the North
coast. He makes reference that the campground of Coronel Socarras in
Cacarajicara was by a small river on the North side of a mountain by the
same name. Elsewhere he makes reference to the "alto de Cacarajicara" ,
which implies the place may have been on the side of the mountain. In the
narrative he says that Bahia Honda (where the spanish army retreated to)
was only a days journey. He does not mention the existence of a town or
even a caserio in Cacarajicara.
