Hola Concha,

I am not sure of which CDs you talking about. Should it be the Western Europe Vital Records Index, I had a look at the Spanish and French Regions (Catalunya North was Spanish until the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659) and I found no info on the surname Pleguezuelo.
For the surname Rubies, there are 299 records of births and christenings and only 9 marriages, all in the Provincia de Gerona.

I have purchased these LDS records (USD 25 + another 30 for the shipping costs). The 22 CDs contain approximately 12.5 million births, christening and marriage records but it is only a very partial listing of church records and civil registrations covering the years 1500s to 1905.
In my case I would say that the investment was not worth it, I found only one ancestor...
I wonder what is the LDS logic!

Concha, as you are in Barcelona, do you have any idea how to access the passenger lists in Arenys de Mar? I suspect that Joaquin (Catalan spelling) Marill, born in Arenys in 1801 has emigrated to Cuba and is the same Joaquim (Spanish spelling) who signed a petition against slavery in 1843 in Matanzas.

Moltes gràcies,

Jean-Pierre
