My abovementioned g-grandfather was born in Key West in 1883 and, according
to the city directory, was a cigar roller;at least in his early life.

It would be fairly safe to assume he was from Cuba, but just out of
curiousity was there any significant migration of Spaniards to Key West
either directly from Spain or via Cuba. And when would this have begun?
Mostly mangement types, involved in the cigar trade?
