I lived in Cuba in 1939 as a 5 year old girl who had to leave Germany with my
parents Alfred Wander and Goldy Wander and brother Jay Wander before the war.
We were very happy to live in Havana for approx18 months at Avenida 21and F
?? until we got our visas to New York. A wonderful Cuban woman named
Laudelina Cortez befriended our family and was very helpful in many many ways. Is
there anyone who subscribes to this website that might have been among the
families who lived in Havana during 1939-1941 as a stop over before coming to New
York via Key West. If anyone relates to my story please contact me. Thank you.
