Thanks for the feedback. My great grandfather Juan Rodriguez Triana ( my grandmothers father) was also from the Canary Islands. He later traveled to El Barrio San Pablo de este Termine, Consolacion del Sur, Cuba. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue as to what the year was. I only know this little bit of information, because I have my grandmothers birth certificate and it says Canarias. You say you received copies from these churches? How did you go about getting them?

I would also suggest that once your narrow the possible churches in Cuba that you call directly and request the information. From my own experience, they are very helpful. They gave me the information I was looking for over the phone, i.e., the names of the town and island they were from...however, when I received the copies I so desperately needed they again only stated, in my case, Islas Canarias. So my message to you is to call just in case they forget to type in the names of the towns. Once we had this information we have moved relatively quickly and even found cousins who still live in Canarias. What a wonderful experience this has been. Good luck in your search.

From what town/city in Cuba is your family from? Is the information you have for your first Cuban born ancestor? In what town and or city in Cuba did your Galician born ancestor died in?
I had the same problem as you, the birth certificate of my grandfather just said that his father was born in Galicia. It was in his marriage certificate where it also listed the town in Galicia where he was born. Eventually I also found the death registration of his father in the parish of the town where he died in Cuba, and it also listed the town in Galicia.
Cuban census records are not going to help you? For Spanish census, or padrones, you are going to again need the Concello.
You have to get access to the parish records of the church in Cuba where your Galician ancestor died or got married, that is if he got married in Cuba.
You got to get to the records of your first Cuban born ancestor and/or his siblings and access their birth and marriage records.
Again if you get me towns in Cuba and date ranges of the events...birth, marriage and death...and can tell you who/where to contact. Depending of the year, and if he came to Cuba as a single man, he could have been in the Spanish military...here the Archivo Historico Militar de Segovia could be of help.
I would encourage you to put Galicia to rest for a while...it could be a wild goose chase to skip a generation and search all 300 concellos in Galicia...Having said this...the surname is not a common one...maybe you could do parallel searches. Writing a letter to all 51 Deans in Galicia could work...but you would have to be very specific about the nature of your inquiry...make clear that you are not after the family "fortune" or looking for family "linkages" in order to immigrate to Spain...don't laugh it is a very common occurrence now days for people from South America who want to claim Spanish Citizenship...so most letter of this kind go unanswered...but it is worth a try.
