Hi Kim:

So glad we're in touch again. I don't remember everything I told you
about the Mullane side a few years ago. So please let me know how
much information you're interested in and I'll give you whatever I
have. Here is a bit to start. You know that Maude's maiden name was
Mullane. Her father was Thomas J. and her mother was Katie A.
Potts. Thomas was my g-g-g-grandmothers brother. It is stated in
the Immigration and Naturalization records that he arrived in New
York on Feb 22, 1871. It also states he was a feed dealer at 1626
Broadway. I've attached a documents for you: death notice, 1870
Census (Thomas/Katie are living next to her parents), property
transfer notice (top right hand corner, first line) and a court case
involving Thomas and Katie. The court case article states he went by
the name of James....which must be his middle name. I always thought
it was John. When he died, he was living with Katie again at 8 West
65th Street.

In a death notice from John Mullane (the eldest brother), it states
he emigrated from Drumcliffe, Co. Sligo. The four brothers and
sister all came at different times..which wasn't uncommon. I tracked
down the Mullane homestead and went to Drumcliffe and visited the
Mullane farmer. It's in a township called Rathcormac. A township is
essentially a plot of land. I've included a picture of the
Rathcormac church. I met Owen and Anne Mullane (see picture). A
brother and sister, who are the last surviving Mullane's on the land
after 600 years.

I don't remember who was trying to track you down. It didn't sound
like a genealogy sleuth...more official. I gave him your email
address. I think Anita Page is still alive. I tried several ways to
get in touch with her, but have run into road blocks. I get the
feeling they don't want me to talk with her. I'm not sure why. Did
you ever make contact with her again?

Looking forward to hearing more... Mary Russell
