where would one look for that? One of my g-g-grandfathers was a lawyer and a notary in Consolacion del Sur in the 1850s.

Hi! If he lived in Havana then he probably taught in the Universidad
de La Habana. Also, I believe that there were directories of
lawyers/attorneys that were published during the 1840s and 1850s, so
maybe you can locate them, say under "Directorio de Abogados".
