Subject: Searching for a few good Whitley Co. Ancestors

Hi All!! Well, as you might have noticed, Tracey, Sharon and I are searching
for some of the same folks, or at least some more details about those folks.
Here's my dilemna - can anyone put me in the right direction???

I am trying to find a marriage record for John MEADORS who married Delila
JONES
on March 12, 1797 probably in Whitley Co, or whatever Whitley was before it
became Whitely. I have also been unable to find a death date for either John
or
Delila. We know that Delila died after 1870 because she is on a Whitley Co
1870
Census living with her daughter Luraney and son-in-law Horatio Gates
Creekmore.
John obviously died before Delilah, and I have a possibly death date of
September
28, 1838. Any ideas where to look? My ultimate goal is to find the parents
of
Delilah Jones.

Also, I know for certain that Horatio Gates Creekmore and Luraney Meadors
were
married March 6, 1821 in Whitley Co. How would I go about obtaining a copy
of that
marriage record? Also, what are the chances of any marriage bonds being on
file
somewhere???

All ideas and opinions cheerfully accepted and appreciated!!!
