OBITUARIES FROM: THE WAYNE COUNTY (KY) OUTLOOK 11-19-1997

LOIS MCKINLEY, age 82, of Wayne County, KY., passed away Sunday, November 9,
1997 at Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, KY.

She was born in Russell County on September 19, 1915, the daughter of
Orville and Floy Beck
Holt. Both parents preceded her in death.

On December 24, 1937 she married Leland McKinley, who survives.

She is also survived by two children Larry McKinley and Linda McKinley
Sexton, both of
Monticello, KY.; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and five
sisters-Anna Walkup, Joyce
Feece, Carol Tupman, Frances Mason, all of Jamestown, KY., and Rachel
Cunningham of
Lexington, KY.

Preceding her in death is one brother-Jack Holt.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 12, 1997 at 2 P.M. in the
funeral home
chapel with Brother Mel Gresham and Brother Paul Bohrer officiating.

Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

JOHN EDWARD STOCKTON, age 62, of Cabell/Murl, KY., passed away Thursday,
November 13, 1997 at Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, KY.

He was born in Wayne County on February 1, 1935, the son of Charlie and Ila
Kay Guffey
Stockton. Both parents preceded him in death.

He married Aughdene Dick, who survives.

He is also survived by one son-Johnny W. Stockton of Georgetown, KY.; and
two brothers-
Charles Stockton of Monticello, KY., and Bob Stockton of Kikomo, Indiana,
four sisters-
Sharon Brown of Monticello, KY., Mary Sue Gregory of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gay
Weston of
New Palestine, Indiana, and Lois Shaw of Winchester, Indiana; three half
sisters-Kathy Tuggle,
Sheila Garner and Daphne Crouch, all of Monticello, KY.

He was a retired employee of Haynes International Steel MFG. Company.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 15, 1997 at 11 A.M. in the
funeral home
chapel with Brother Charles E. Dick officiating.

Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery.

ELMO VAUGHN, age 79, of the Denney Community of Wayne County, passed away
Sunday,
November 16, 1997 at the Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, Kentucky.

He was born in the Ritner Community of Wayne County on March 31, 1918, the
son of John
Sherman and Rebecca Corder Vaughn. Both parents preceded him in death.

On September 19, 1947 he married Addie Clark Vaughn, who preceded him in
death on
September 20, 1997.

He is survived by four brothers-Theo Vaughn of Fortville, Indiana, Carson
Vaughn of
Indianapolis, Indiana, Fred Vaughn of Somerset, KY., and Ford Vaughn of
Corydon, Indiana;
six sisters-Myrtle Abbott of Crossville, Tennessee, Oreda Lamar of Somerset,
KY., Hazel
Coffey of Daleville, Indiana, Nella Adams and Ella Dean Vaughn, both of
Monticello, KY., and
Irene Jones of Stearns, KY.

Preceding him in death is a sister-Bonnie, who passed away in childhood.

He was a farmer.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at 10 A.M. in the
funeral home
chapel with Brother Lowell Foster and Brother Robert Flynn officiating.

Burial was in Abbott Cemetery.

ELVA FROST, age 77, of Monticello, KY., passed away Tuesday, November 11,
1997 at St.
Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.

She was born in Wayne County, KY. on January, 1, 1920, the daughter of
Andrew Nelson and
Alice Whittle Conn.

Both parents preceded her in death.

She married Gillam Frost, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter-Judy Gregory of Monticello, KY.; two
grandchildren; one
brother-Ray Conn of Monticello, KY.; and one sister-Audrey Arthur of
Monticello, KY.

Preceding her in death are two brothers-Elmer Conn and Arlin Conn; and one
sister-Orpha
Massengale.

She was a member of Parmley's Grove Church.

Funeral services were held Friday, November, 14, 1997 at 1 P.M. in the
funeral home chapel
with Brother Gary Lovett officiating.

Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery.

DORA MARIE HARDWICK, age 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Monday,
November 10, 1997 at Community Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She was born in Wayne County, KY., on November 10, 1920, the daughter of
John and Mary
New Roberts. Both parents preceded her in death.

She married Cecil Hardwick, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children-John Edward Hardwick and Dickie Joe
Hardwick, both of
Indianapolis, Indiana, and Doris Elaine Wells of Frankfort, Indiana; one
grandchild; one brother-
Charlie Roberts of Frankfort, Indiana; and one sister-Nellie Crabtree of
Monticello, KY.

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 13, 1997 at 10 A.M. in the
funeral home
chapel with Brother Bill Dick officiating.

Burial was in Elk Spring Cemetery.
