Hi,
I am searching for relatives of Elizabeth Jane MARTIN. She was born 9
June 1821 in KY. Wondered if there could be a connection to Moses and
John MARTIN that you are searching. She is my g.g. grandmother and was
living in Whitley county in 1840s. The only thing I know about her is
that she married Christopher Borden ADKINS 10 February 1842 in Campbell
county Tennessee. They had two children born in Whitley county.
Samantha Jane, b. 1844 and Jeremiah M. (wonder if the M stands for
MARTIN) b. 4 July 1849. They left KY and arrived in Decatur county Iowa
in September 1850. I have lots of info from then until now. Any help
will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Geneva in Oklahoma

Hi folks and esp. to Gail Darling,
First, Gail, it all depends. I think you are probably a Californian but
we'd be proud if you want to be an adopted Kentuckian, too. If you live
below about where Elizabethtown, Hardin Co.KY is then you may be a
Southerner. If you live North of that line, you may be a Northerner.
For myself, despite my Michigander friends opinion, I am neither. I am a
Kentuckian. I think that bit of arrogance may be left over from the
isolation of our CRR ancestors way back when.

Back to genealogy. I am still looking for kin of Wells, Theophilus, and
Arad PENNINGTON. Also kin of Moses and John MARTIN. And my particular
William DURHAM still has his tracks well covered. He was born 1816 in
TN. But he isn't of the William Milton Durham line. My main brick wall
is this William Durham. Any help out there?

Barb Temple
