THRILLED to hear from you!!!
Do you know when/where Daniel REYNOLDS,that was living in Knox Co., KY, was
born???
I do believe [only speculation] that they ARE the same family.

I'll TRY to make my "REYNOLDS" family story...short & sweet:

I searched for abt. 20 yrs. [seriously] for the KY death certificate of the
MOM of my 2nd gr. gndfthr., he was named
George Washington RANDALL [1852-1927, Knox Co., KY (KC)].

His dau./my gr. grndmthr, Edna Eve RANDALL-MCDONALD [1895-1982] who I knew &
gave me her grandmthr's name [of course she knew info abt. HER grandmthr.]

Her grandmthr. named Margaret A. RANDALL, lived to be 96 yrs. old, 1825-1921,
lived in Barbourville, KC, KY & was bur. @ Barbourville City Cem...
FINALLY found Margaret's gravemarker in Cemetery...
gravemarker reads "Margaret A. RANDALLS"
she is buried beside her dau. & son in law. [Katherine RANDALL-NELSON, w/o
Nimrod NELSON]...

"Granny" [Edna RANDALL-MCDONALD, wife of Gayle "Dowis" a/k/a "Highpockets"
MCDONALD] told me that Margaret often went by the nickname "Peggy"... so I
searched...
Peggy RANDALL[S]...
I KNEW she died in 1921 & should've had an OFFICIAL KY Death Certificate...
...FINALLY found IT under "PEGGY REYNOLDS" & found her other daughter Mary
Ann "Annie" Randall [1843-1917] listed under "ANNIE REYNOLDS".
Per "Peggy Reynolds" KY D. Cert. & it IS her...
her parents were DANIEL REYNOLDS & POLLY WALLACE.

So BEGINS my search for REYNOLDS...a/k/a RANDALL[S], RANDELL & on & on...
4 Jul 1804 KY LAND Grants, 70 acres, Bk.5, pg. 73, KC,KY, Indian Creek for
"a" Daniel...

1810 KC, KY Census
Daniel 21010-10010-00

1840 Knox Co., KY Census has POLLY RANDALE [I'm assuming/not proving... this
is Margaret's mom/Daniel's wife who is POLLY WALLACE-RANDALL/REYNOLDS...

1844 Knox Co., KY Tax List has:
RANDELL, Daniel & Joseph

1849 KC,KY Tax List NO RANDALL[S]

1850 KC,KY CENSUS [MY Margaret is listed]
RANDLES, Margaret age 26, b. NC living w/James & Harriett RIDGELL-PAYNE
[Are you TOTALLY confused, yet?? <smile> Is RIDGELL another form of
RANDALL/REYNOLDS,etc...???]

1852 KC,KY Tax List
RANDLES, Margaret
[NO other RANDLES/RANDALL[S]/REYNOLDS]

1860 KC,KY CENSUS
RANDLES, Margaret, 45 yrs., pob KY??? had been NC
Mary, age 18
Washington, age 12 [my GG grndfthr]
NOTE ages of children are NOT correct.

1870 KC,KY CENSUS [Barbourville,159-4-4]
RANDAL, Margaret , age 46 yrs., farmer, b. NC
Washington, 18 yrs., b. KY [Geo. Washington b. 1852]
George, 5 yrs., b. KY [may be s/o Annie??]

1880 KC, KY CENSUS 397-413
RANDLES, Margarette, 56 yrs., b. KY [?? & parents b. KY??]
Kittie E. [dau.], 24 yrs., b. KY

1900 KC,KY Census [Main St. Barbourville]
RANDALL, Katherine [head of house],b. 4-1865, 44yrs, single
Margurite [sic], MOTHER, b. 8-1824, 76 yrs,w [widow?]

So much for "SHORT & SWEET" story. <smile>
Gonna forward this to the Knox Co., KY LIST, also.
Hoping SOMEONE knows other info.
