Bob Ford in Seattle: Here are my notes on an earlier Routledge, Ann (Nanny)
Routledge, mostly drawn from a letter written by Robert Dodgson in 1843 which
I copied from files in the Carlisle record office. My own research is with
the Telford line which links as you can see below. This Telford line is
clustered around Bewcastle.

(J.Parry) lists B: 10 NOV 1754, D: 1827.
Robert Dodgson letter (1843): "Ann or Nanny Daughter of William Routledge and
Mary Elliot his wife, supposed Born at Park in or about 1747. Died at Flatt
Loan Bewcastle in or about 1827 aged about 80 years. She married in or about
1770 Thomas Telford (who was born in or about 1747) Died at Borderrig,
Bewcastle in or about 1814, aged 64 years) son of Thomas Telford and Mary
Lindsey ... his wife who farmed the Flatt in Bewcastle. Mary or Moll Lindsey
his Mother above named who was said to be descended from Rich Connections and
a beautiful woman came from Scotland along with her husband.">>
