Henry NICHOLSON, mentioned below in my earlier message, was born in Maryport, Cumberland according to his NSW death certificate. His mother is listed on it as Jane JOHNSTONE not Thompson as stated below. Henry must have been born about 1849.

I am reposting my interests after finding some more information. My original query related to Henry NICHOLSON who must have been born about 1849 in Cumberland. His marriage certificate, recently received from NSW BDM shows his parents as John NICHOLSON and Jane THOMPSON.

There was no further information about whereabouts in Cumberland Henry was born.

However on the NSW indexes I found the deaths of Henry, Robert and John NICHOLSON all of whom had parents listed as John NICHOLSON and Jane.

On the IGI I found christenings for John and Robert (still no Henry) on the same Batch No. (PO21471) with parents John NICHOLSON and Jane. Robert's christening was 1/11/1829 and John's 12/9/1830 and they took place in Lazonby and Plumpton Wall, Cumberland.

I have had no luck finding the marriage of John and Jane on the IGI.

I hope that someone may have further information.
