Hi listers
Like so many flashes of inspiration, we often get a new lead merely by
asking the "right" question, so can I fire one at you and see if anyone can
help?
My g-g-grandfather George (Geordie) Bell (1846 - 1907), tinsmith of Angel
Lane Penrith, is supposed to have had an argument with his son George over
George Junior accepting money for a sporting event, considered positively
immoral at the time.
Such was the rift, George junior emigrated to Canada around 1906. Does
anyone by any chance know of any similar stories of money being paid for
sporting events, or similar arguments between fathers and sons?
regards, Andy Bell
