I find this site very quiet at the moment so have decided to post my interests to try to create some interest.
BLAIR Thomas m. to Margaret Burney/Bernie at Bromfield in 1763
They had a son JOHN BLAIR who m. HANNAH TALLENTIRE from Scalehouses, Renwick. They farmed in the Skelton, Greystoke and Mungrisedale area. They had several sons, I know the descendants of Tallentire and James, but what happened to John Blair b.1827, William Blair b.1829, Richard Blair b. 1837, Frederick Blair, b.1839. I find it hard to believe that they all died in childhood!!
TALLENTIRE any from the Renwick area. they died out in 1873.
LIGHTFOOT, myself and a distant cousin in Utah, would be interested in hearing from other "cousins" We hail from the Wigton area, but there must be lots in Utah as Thomas b. Bowness on Solway and Jane who emigrated in 1905 had a very large family, 15 children.
LIDDLE they were blacksmiths in the Bowness area, and married into the TOPPING family who also came from Bowness, one branch still living in Bowness whilst another branch I have found in Virginia.
RIMMER I have traced back to Liverpool where they were Corn-merchants in1807 when John rimmer m. Margaret Dixon at Muncaster. They have 3 children (that I have found)1st baptised at St Nicholas Liverpool 1808 the other two at St Peter's, Liverpool.1816,1823.
The Dixons came from Newtown, Muncaster, Bootle area
The final family on my father's side are the CARR' David Carr m. Mary Birkett at Castle Sowerby in 1804 and farmed at High Dean & Chapter, Castle Sowerby.
I shall look forward to hearing from anyone who may think that they are connected to any of the above, however remotely.
