<<THE DELUGE cont.
SEVEN INCHES IN 36 HOURS.
UNPRECEDENTED DOWNPOUR KESWICK
In 36 hours 6.61 inches of rain fell from Monday night to Wednesday morning,
the heaviest rainfall ever known in the Keswick district and caused the most
serious floods within living memory. The highest Rainfall previously
recorded was 3.5 inches in 24 hours.>>
I must ask my father-in-law if he remembers this. I wonder if it has been
worse than this since then? Now I know why I don't want to live there!!!!!!
(Mind you, Plymouth can give Keswick a run for its money in the rain stakes!)
