The index I have is for wills proved in the Diocese of Carlisle 1661-1750, so
the ones you quote are way too late.

There are quite a few MONKHOUSEs there, but none in the area you quote. There
seem to be clusters in the Carlisle area, in Caldbeck/Castle Sowerby/Sebergham,
and in Hesket-in-the-Forest, as well as a couple in Penrith and Keswick and some
in Westmorland.

Cockermouth is just outside Carlisle Diocese anyway (came under Copeland in
Chester Diocese). Gilcrux is in Carlisle Diocese.
