Hello, everyone. I've subscribed to this list under the assumption that it
includes the above spelling of CURREY (although I think the origins of the
CURRYs and CURREYs may be different). Since no mail has come through since I
entered my subscription, I thought I'd post here, see if something happens.
My great-grandfather was GEORGE WASHINGTON CURREY, b.9-20-1842, m.Francis
Saphronia McGHEE, d.? Southwest City, MO. Their children were: Jesse Ezekiel,
b.11-23-1874; Sofronia Bell (COOPER, also PIERCE), b.10-12-1876; Corah Maud
(KUDER), b.10-22-1878; Clarence Edwin, b.2-21-1880, George Bedford,
b.11-23-1881; Charles T., b.2-5-1884 (m.Anna FIELDS); Albert W., b.12-27-1886;
Florence (my grandmother, m.Thomas DURHAM), b.9-5-1888; Benjamin F., b.??;
Claud P., b.??; May, b.??. Francis was 1/2 Cherokee and they are all enrolled
on the Dawes and Guion Miller Rolls.
My greatx2grandfather was also GEORGE WASHINGTON CURREY, b.?, m.Elizabeth
JENNINGS, d.1843, Tulsa, OK.
Does any of this ring any bells with anyone? Wondering if these CURREYs are
related to Benjamin CURREY, Indian agent, Old Indian Territory, GA. Would be
grateful for any information.
