Sandy, I do have much information about our line that came out of Burke,
Warren, Hancock counties Ga., and onto Monroeville, Ala. down Hwy 84 to
Caldwell Parish and finally Winn Parish La.. I have proven this direct line
but I have always been anxious to know more about the rest of the family that
fell off the train along its way to Ga. and about 1858-60 when they trekked
onto La.. I know some went on to Texas and even further. The Fla. Curry
line I have always been interested in hearing about. Even more I would like
to know more about the Curry's who served in the Rev. War(War for
Independence). I have been trying to prove our line's having served and
although what I have found points to the fact that they were veterans I can't
prove it because of burned out records. For instance the Cherokee territory
was granted to Rev. War vets first (in Ga.) and my line was granted I still
don't have enough proof to get this line into D.A.R.. Well you are into
this business and I am certain you are familiar with this emotion. Wm. Curry
was the brother of my gg grandfather Allen Howell Curry. He moved with
Allen to Monroeville, Ala. about 1812. They had a brother named Isaiah.
The name Robert hasn't been repeated on our line. I feel that this Robert
which I have found in Ga., N.C., and all the way back to Va. may have been
family but not my direct line....not at this point. There was a Robert Curry
who was killed in a steamboat accident in Savannah, Ga. shortly after the
Rev. War. Augusta, Ga. University Campus is a good place to find out some
unanswered questions. Happy hunting and I hope that we find that we are
cousins. Dolores
