Hi

I would be interested to know how other Custodian users treat spelling
variations in names, whether surnames or forenames. It seems to me that
there is a case for using standardised versions of names for indexing
purposes, while preserving the actual spelling elsewhere in the record. If
I were to add fields for the original spelling and used the ready-made
fields for the standardised spellings it would be an enormous task and the
original spellings would not appear in the master index.
What advice can the users who are more experienced than I am offer?

Howard.
