Sonja

Thanks for this, but I just cannot make it work. When I have pasted into the
field the insertion point is flashing away at the end of the text, and I
click again to ensure focus, but I am not sure how to save it. There is no
Save button on the dialog box, so I click on the Done button and it doesn't
save.

I take your point about adding a Name to Index, and I do wish to add a name
to the index, but I have to do it in a certain order.

If I paste the newspaper text into the field on the dialog box, then
highlight a name and do name to index, all the text is saved and the name is
in the index. But I also need to copy and paste from the article the
Newpaper name, date and other details, into the grid form.

If I do Name to index before I have completed the other fields, then the
name is sent to the index without any of the other information. I then have
to delete this index entry and repeat the process after copying and pasting
all the data. It would be useful if the dialog box could stay open to allow
editing on the grid, but then it wouldn't be a dialog box! A data entry form
would be useful so that all the details could be filled in at one fell
swoop, then saved.

Thanks

Fiona

Hello Fiona
When you have pasted the text into the Text field, click somewhere at the
end
of your text, to put the focus into that field before you save the entry.
You
can save the entry without including a name to index, though personally I
would put something in which will place the entry into the Index. Some local
history entries I have which have relevance to the origin of my surname of
interest have no surname in the text, per se, so I key in Local History in
the bottom of the text and highlight this and send it the Index. All the
Index entries appear together regardless of which source they come from.

Sonja
