Subject: [CW-OZARKS] ROLL CALL
Date: Fri, 12 Dec 2003 19:05:13 -0800
It's ROLL CALL time!!
Post your Soldier's name[s], what unit and company they served in, if
known, and tell us what you are looking for.
If you have a story, legend, or something to share, tell us about it.
We are an OPEN list, and as long as it has to do with genealogy, the
Civil War in Southeastern Missouri and Northeastern Arkansas, it's ON
TOPIC!!
We want to hear about your Soldiers...
I have a direct ancestor, my great great grandfather, Jesse Madison
TAYLOR, who served with the Fristoe's Regiment out of Oregon County,
Missouri in the CSA. He was a private, and apparently proud of his
service... in the only picture we have of him, he is wearing his
Confederate pin. The Fristoe's Regiment was a guerilla type of fighting
unit.. snipers, hiding in the trees..
Because it was apparent that he was proud of his service, I had a
Confederate stone ordered and placed at the foot of his grave in 2001
in Myrtle Cemetery, in Oregon Co. At the same time, we placed a
Confederate stone at the foot of Jesse's brother's grave, Thomas
TAYLOR, at the same cemetery.
I also have another soldier that I am proud of that fought for the
Union.. but will tell you about him later.

My ancestors must be in a witness protection program!
