Gosh it is a small world! Everytime I walk past a tree that has pitch on it
and I stop to smell it, I think of the warm Nonat! Thanks for the memories!

I know that native american's in the Northeast have used pitch for centuries
to seal and disinfect sores. I wonder it there is a connection?

I remember having nonat also, it was like a magic medicine. I sure got rid
of infections in a hurry. I think my mom still has a small piece of it she
hoarded away for emergencies. We are a Czech family from Minnesota.

<<I do not know if this is related, but my mother used to buy Nonat which
came in paper wrapped "tubes"....she used it to draw out slivers. The
company went out of business years ago. You lit a match to heat the salve,
which was hard. Then you used the end of the match to dig out the warmed
salve and put it on a bandaid and left until morning.

The only place I remember her getting it was from her Texas Czech family.
