My line is through Walter Wat Russell on the Trail of Tears the name was Rustybelle. In
about 1854 he married Da-ca "Dorcas" Foster records show she was born about 1834.
Records indicate her parents were James Foster, Jr and Quait-sey "Betsy" Spaniard.
Records indicate she had a half brother named Jack "Jak-s" Spaniard.
On the Drennen Roll Betsy and Jack are living together. Da-ca is living next door.
I have never tried to trace back farther on the Foster family but I had copied some pages
from Starr Book about Betsy Spaniard and last night I got them out to see what he
had on that line. He shows a Cap. James Foster Jr. born about 1778 and died in 1843 in Flint District which is where Da-ca was located. Starr's record shows James married to Betsy Spaniard before 1804. It says she was born 1785 and died after 1859. Starr's record also shows that he and Betsy had one child, Tiana Foster born about 1804. Can anyone help me with this problem. I believe my records are correct but Betsy would have been very old to have a child. 1834-1785=49 Can anyone help???
