I am trying to find a relative connection for a James Adams who was born
abt 1790 in Tn according to all of his childrens census, he married
Catherine Thomas 1824 or 5 in NC. I have no idea what part. They had
John Quincy Adams in NC in 1825 followed by Samuel Madison in 1826
followed by Barsheba in 1831. They left at the time of the removal and
arrived in Ray County Missouri about 1838 or 9, where they had 5 more
children before James died unexpectedly just before 1850. All the family
lore says he was 1/2 Cherokee but I have no names for his parents and
though we do have some information in the form of old correspondence
between relatives, there is no reference to James or any of the children
going back to NC to visit grandparents, leaving me with the impression
they had already died. I have looked on many of the rolls and cannot
find any thing with James on it. Can anyone suggest anything else I can do?
