I think it is mostly an age thing. The older a person is, the more apt
that person is to use the word Notebook. Back in the 1940's when I was in
high school, "notebook" and "loose-leaf notebook" was all that I heard.
Then when my kids were teenagers was when I first recall hearing "binder"
used. Old habits are hard to break, however <g> - kay thesarge
