Hi Frank & Edie and All
Each of us designs our filing system to assist us in the way we anticipate
using it. [AND it behooves us to spend the time designing it early in the
process so we won't have to "re-do" it]
Mine is a three part one: First is the type of document, { probate,
military, death, etc.} using three or four letters. Second is a variety
of identifiers, using 3 or 4 letters, such as Surname, county, whatever.
Third is the next number of items that have the SAME first two sets of
letters, i.e. 001, 002, etc. [Careful, - - - there is limited space in the
window so length is important]

I look at actual file documents for a variety of reasons, without going into
Clooz. That's not to undervalue Clooz. It's super when I want to know
how many places a particular person can be found in my documents, and just
where they are filed.
Oh - - I thought I would use the notebook route, but it is so bulky, so I
group like items in file folders - - - - using the first group of letters
and then the second IF I have lots of items in one category.

So - - - - - 1st, spend the time needed to determine what filing system you
will like to operate. [Then, if you are like me, make a clear description
for your own use!!!] It's easy for me to forget what my great plan was,
when I pick up the filing after some months.
