Hello All,
I am researching my father's ancestors whom I know from a death certificate came from Co. Tipperary.

I pick up the KEAN family trail in Eldorado, Victoria, Australia in the early 1850's. Eldorado was one of the multitude of Victorian gold mining towns that sprang up in the early 1850's after the discovery of gold in Clunes.

The people I am looking for details on are Martin KEAN b. c1800-1810 and Alice RYAN b. c1800-1810. I do not know if they ever came to Victoria (Aust.), but I believe they did, as their son Edward KEAN b. c1832 in Co. Tipperary is listed as living in Australia from approximately 1841, firstly in New South Wales, then later in Victoria. If he was in Australia at the age of nine I would imagine he travelled out with his parents. I have not yet been able to track the details of their travel. I do not know of any of Edward's siblings, if there were any.

I have a family tree of some 100 people descendant from Martin and Alice, including Edward KEAN and his wife Margaret Mary McDONNELL m. 1855 in Beechworth, Victoria. I would be happy to share this with anyone who is interested.

Thanks to all in advance.
Liam KEAN
