Does anyone know if Ordnance Survey Maps are available today and where? If not, is there any other maps that would show the county or just the North Tipperary area in great detail so a person could find the area their ancestors came from on a visit there today.

On another subject, I have been trying to find a townland of my gggrandmother called Violet Bank. In going over some old papers of my father's, I found some Tithe Applotment Book sheets that show the townland of Violet Bank but no record of parish. There are other townlands shown on the sheet and I wonder if anyone knows about these - Little Bally Himikin, Clare(or i)anna, Bellun. They don't show up on either of the townland finder sites. I would really like to find where this place is. I believe it is in North Tipperary. After marriage they raised their family in Carrigagown, Kilbarron, where all of her husband's family was. Since this was in the early 1800's, I would guess she probably came from not too far away, whatever that may be.

Thank you for any help. Regards, Mary.
