Agnes, it's my understanding that registration was made in the district
in which the event took place. The location of the residence was not a
relevant factor. For example, if one was sick and went to the hospital,
the death is recorded where they died, even though it may not be in the
same district as the town / townland where one resided. Or, if the
groom was married in the bride's church in another registration
district, it would be registered where the marriage took place,
regardless of where the bride or groom resided.
As for Cahir, on my map it appears to be in Clogheen district, though it
could possibly be Cashel. It's hard to tell, since I don't have any
towns marked on the map as reference.
