To the List: Thanks for responses. I would welcome having my Email
Bulgering. I reply to the list because one question seemed to recur.
(By the way, I don't like to use the word "list". You people are
obviously more than a collection of ID's. The Tipperary "List" seems more
like a community. No, I don't have a better word. No, I don't mind in you
skip any commentary I may put in - like the foregoing)
.. The question seemed to be how I latched on to a particular parish.
for my families. I won't take much to answer because I simply did what
everybody does. The only difference is that I probably started earlier. I
was first there in 1975, had contacted Heritage house in the 80's , etc.
I ended up with a map of Tipperary parishes ;marked to identify where the
Bulgers and Donphy's both lived. This was done by using Griffiths
Valuations, Tithe---Books, Index. . of Townlands and the 1851 census.
By now this is "old" stuff to you. Infact your responses have
reminded me that I should now turn to later resources and more sophisticated
procedures. may just do that and will count on receiving your guidance. I
will reply to some specific inquiries I received.
Doug
About as close to Tipperary as one can get and stay in the USA.
The eastern end of Long Island.
