Thought I would post to see if I can find out any information on Joseph Patrick of Benamore, which is just outside of Roscrea. I know his wifes name was Elizabeth last name unknown and he was born circa 1790/1800
I have verified that he had one daughter Mary Ann Patrick born August 8 1836.
I suspect two of being his sons one Thomas of Offlay
and one Daniel of Offlay
I also suspect his fathers name to be Thomas Patrick and his mothers name to be Sarah O'Neil, sister to Henry O'Neil of Ballinclough, Tipperary renting land from Bayley's farm. Henry O'Neil immigrated to Canada in 1818.
The only Patrick that I have been able to come up with in the 1796 Flax Growers list is one Daniel Patrick of Offlay, and I believe he is the "big" daddy of them all.
suspected children are
John Patrick married Sarah Neil/O'Neil lived at Bayleys farm, Ballinclough Tipperary
Thomas Patrick married Sarah O'Neil b abt 1764 had at least one Daniel, Thomas, George, Joseph / married Elizabeth and Mary who married Jamed Porte and she died in Offlay December 25 1832
Daniel Patrick who married Margaret Crawford and had at least one child Johanna Patrick in 1794
and then possibly a George b abt 1788
questions Could this Daniel Patrick who married Margaret Crawford actually be the Daniel Patrick "big" daddy of em all....would seem he would be the one showing up on the flax growers list in 1796....wouldnt it??
The Thomas Patrick I list as his son....he was born circa 1760, John Patrick born circa 1773, is it possible that this Daniel is their brother or their father??
Child line up going on down the line indicates that the father of Thomas and John is the name Daniel, John names his first son Daniel and his son names his third son Daniel , which is a strong indicator that the "big" daddy is a Daniel
Any suggestions or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Is there some way I can get deaths on any of these people, I believe very strongly that any Patricks in the Offlay/Tipperary area are all of the same lineage.
I also have one....only one indication that one Sarah Patrick who would be "of age" that lived in Moneymore, near Belfast is also a member of this family. Could she be someone's wife?? A letter was written to her in the early 1870's with pictures of some Patrick children sent to her from Canada. It does not indicate the relationship nor her age or whether she is married or single. Is there some way to find out who she was?? or what Patrick lived in Moneymore or would have a letter sent to Moneymore in or abt 1870.??
Well....enough brain bending for one day...hehe
any help would be appreciated
