My Quirkes are from Clonmel and Carrick-on-Suir in the early 1800s. I see no
obvious connection with yours and a fair distance away, too. But it might be
worth while for you to check with the Waterford Heritage Ltd., St. Patrick's
Church, Jenkins Lane, Waterford, County Waterford (try , and/or
google). They are the IGP centre for the county of Waterford and the diocese of
Waterford and Lismore, which latter both Clonmel and Carrick fall into.
