Dispensation to John Connors and Julian Cantwell [3 x 3] - Same date


Borris parish:

School teachers were Henry Fox and Cornelius Ryan - July 25, 1759

Dispensation for Thady Gleeson and Mary Ryan [4 x 4] - July 27, 1759

[Ah, now here is one of the duplicate/double baptisms] - "At Kilbeny
[Kilbeheny] chapel Michaell Cleary of Mitchelstown requires a baptism for
his
son William by his lawful wife Honora Donovan and Michael swears his
son William was baptised by James Butler at Mitchelstown 9 October 1738.
Godparents - James Kelliher, Joan Moran." - Aug.?, 1759 [I would guess the
baptism in 1738 would show a different mother]

"William Hunt, aged about 75, shopkeeper in Tipperary deposeth that Richard

Creagh [Crowe], a friar of the order of St. Francis, in the month of July or

time of year about eleven years ago. Dated in the chapel of Rathduff this

of August 1759. Kate Hogan aunt to the aforesaid Anne Hogan, deposeth the
same
that Will Hunt does. Said Kate Hogan is about 60 years of age and lives in
Tipperary. Dated as above.
Said Wm Hunt's wife, aunt to the girl by the mother, deposeth the same
thing.
Dated as above." [Neither William Hunt nor Kate Hogan could sign their
names;
both made marks]
