Hi,
I never knew there were so many Killeens until I bought a computer. When I
was a kid and would go to different cities I would look in the telephone books
for Killens there were nearly none. Today go to search and you can pull up
over 200 just to start.
Well, I am trying to do a family tree and not having much luck at it. I do
not really have a lot of information. But if I could I'd like to give you the
information and see if any of it sounds familiar.
My grandfather was Martin Killeen born April 3,1865 in Ireland (Mayo) died
July 21,1926 in Pittsburgh, PA. He married Annie Raffarety born Augusta 15,
1869 Ireland October, 5 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. They meet on the ship while
coming to America. They had I think 11 children 8 of which were live births.
They were: Annie 1893 first born, Mary 1895, Martin 1895, Sept (? but
possible, ) Catharine 1896, John 1900 & George 1900 ?? Laurance 1905 and
James (my dad) 1907, all were born in Pittsburgh, PA. Martin's father was
John Killeen his mother Mary Morin. Annie's father was David Rafferty.
I have been told, they may have been from Mayo or Galway.
If you are upset in any way that I have contacted you I apologize. If your ok
with this and have any information to share with me I will be waiting to hear
from you. If you want to chat back & forth with another KILLEEN we can do
that too.
Thanks in advance,
Maureen, IrishMO101 - I live in Des Moines, Iowa
