I am in contact with the descendants in New Zealand of John (Noble)
Johnston and his wife Eliza:-
"In 1875, the "Carisbrooke Castle" sailed from Belfast carrying
Ulster Orangemen and their families to a new life in New Zealand.
The settlement was at Kati Kati, North Island.
DH's Great-great-great Grandmother, Eliza, her husband, Noble Johnston,
and 7 of their children were on board; their daughter, Margaret,
stayed in N. Ireland. She married the buyer of the family farm, a John
Johnston, no relation, and eventually most of their 12 children went to
New Zealand also!
Margaret's daughter, Anna Maria is my Mother-in-law's Grandmother.
She and her brother Adam stayed in Northern Ireland."
Anna Maria married Thomas BEATTIE, from near OMAGH.
The New Zealand branch & I are interested in John (Noble)'s family,
particularly his parents!
Any connections anywhere?
