Do you have any special memories of Christmas Past's to
> share, regarding your *Irish* ancestors?

I remember that my mother made mincemeat pie every holiday especially for my
maternal grandfather. I thought it was really "meat", and couldn't
understand why he ate it for dessert. Apparently that was an Irish
tradition. We also kept an electric candle in the window, so the Christ
child could find his way into the house.
We always visited every one of my father's 8 brothers and sister's families
over the holidays, which kept us very busy. He kept in close contact with
his family, and we ate dinner at my paternal grandparents almost every
Sunday until they passed away.
That's about all I can think of that is "Irish". Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year to everyone. Jane
