Good Morning, and Greetings!
It is wonderful to have the opportunity to direct a post to such a
specific locality,
and I hope that there are some SHAHANs out there... or perhaps someone
who can tell us how our name used to be spelled, correctly!
We are descendants of David B.(Benjamin?) SHAHAN of Tennessee b. there
in l824... We would like to find out who his father was, and when the
SHAHAN's came to America... I have a feeling that it was sometime after
the Cromwell Invasion in the l600's...
Other family names of the men are such: William, Preston, James,
Albert, David, Benjamin, & John.. (Enik?) [poss. Teague, Cornelius,
Thomas, & Daniel]
Would there be any family there who has documented when the family left,
or would be able to share family Bible pages with me?
I have a few pages from the Bible of Mary Shahan of Kentucky, my
husband's great grandfather's (WILLIAM PRESTON SHAHAN) sister starting
around the l850's...
