My Cork ancest ors are Michael Shea and Ellen McCarthy, who married either
before they left Ireland at famine time or shortly after they arrived in
Cuba, N.Y, where they raised a large family and now are buried.
Near their graves in the Cuba cemetery are an older couple, Daniel and
Catherine McCarthy, who may possibly be Ellen's parents, especially since the
young Shea couple named two of their first children Daniel and Katy. But
then, those were such popular names for Irish families at the time, it may
mean nothing.
As nearly as I can determine, Michael and Ellen would have been born between
1825 and 1830. Several dates are given for their birth in famlily records,
and the census records all show them to be the same age each 10 year period.
Great never to age, isn't it?
any connects?
love
joan
