Hullo All,
I am new to this list and wonder if anyone knows if the Board of Guardian
Meeting Books for the Skibbereen Foundling Home are lodged anywhere. Also
Bandon if there was a foundling home there.
My great grandmother Johanna SMYTH/Smith was one of the thousands of Irish
Orphan girls sent to Australia from Foundling Homes. She arrived in
Adelaide on the "Elgin" in 1849 and virtually no information was given
about the girls.

I am also interested in MERRICK from the Youghal area.
