In a message dated 98-05-26 20:00:45 EDT, you write:
<< Hi Corkers!
Would anyone know of a resource that might list doctors in Co Cork, or Cork
City mid 1800s? (looking for surnames Grady and Noonan)

Hello Mary,
According to Irish Genealogy, A Record Finder, edited by Donal F. Begley,
there were directories issued in Ireland for a number of years.
For the time frame you are asking specifically, in County Cork, there would
be:
1846; Slater's Directory of Ballincollig, Bandon, and Inishshannon, Bantry,
Charleville, Clonakilty, Cloyne and Castlemartyr, Cork, Cove, Doneraile,
Fermoy, Kanturk, Kilworth, Kinsale, Macroom, Mallow, Midleton, Millstreet,
Mitchelstown, Newmarket, Rathcormac, Skibbereen and Castletownsend, Youghal.
1856; Slater's Directory-same as above but also including the towns of;
Glengariff, Dunmanway, Passage and Monkstown, Queenstown (Cove), Castlelyons,
Ross, Baltimore, Skull and Ballydehob.
Since we will be traveling to Ireland next year, I have already asked about
access to these records. Maria O'Shea from Mallow's Tourist Office has
confirmed for me that a copy of Slater's 1856 directory is held in Cork City
Library. I don't know if the library has any type of genealogy service though.
Maria also was kind enough to give me the library number: (021) 277110
I hope this is of help...............Stay Well......................Anita
