Subject: Phone Book Offer Follow Up

Greetings!

I believe that all of the requests made to my offer last week have been
answered - with one exception [Donna of Austraila - mail keeps bouncing]

So, if you have not received a reply, your query seems to have gone
astray. Please just re send it to me directly with the Subject of Phone
Book Request. Please take a peak at the Guidelines below.

Pat Wood in western Washington State, USA

GUIDELINES

1. State the name of the county. [Not all requests are for Cork]

2. If you have the name of a townland, please provide the name of a
larger town that probably has the post office which serves your
townland.. [Otherwise , if your village is not on my Michelin map, we
may be out of luck.]

3. If your area of interest sits on or near a county border, say so, and
I'll look in that other county as well if you wish.

4. If your name of interest is likely to be quite prevalent in the area
[e.g., Collins, O'Brien, etc.], please state what it is you want to know
so that I might tell you something more than " Yes, it covers several
pages."

5. Finally, it would be nice to learn where YOU are writing from. That
makes it all the more interesting. :)

It may be helpful to know that the Republic has 6 phone books. Co Cork
is pretty much self-contained in one book. Kerry, Limerick, Clare and
part of Tipp. are in another book. The rest of Tipp. and the
southeastern counties are in a third book........but there's overlap on
the borders. Then, Dublin's book also contains suburbs that are in other
counties.....such as Kildare. There's a fifth book for Dublin's "collar"
counties, going from Wicklow up to the NI border and west to Roscommon.
Finally, there's the Galway up thru Donegal book ...... with some
Westmeath and Cavan thrown in for good measure.

Good luck and have fun!
