Subject: Cork City Militia

Hello! My g-g-g grandfather, Robert Lacy, served in the Light Company of the
Cork City Militia from 1799 to 1816 under the comand of Captains Richard Beare
and Elias Pearce. Does anyone know about this regiment? its purpose? etc? I
would be very grateful for any leads. Thanks so much.
