Hello , I am researching our family's CRIBB ancestry.
This is what I have: In 1875 Helena M. Cribb [grandmother] was born in Barracks, Youghal
Her mother's name was also Helena [ maiden name Hingston ]
Her father , John Cribb was a corporal in Barracks at this date
In 1881 U.K. census : I find John Cribb, 39 yrs. living on Sussex Street, Broughton in Salford, Lancashire, England. Helena Cribb wife 23 yrs. in Ireland; Helena Cribb dau 6 yrs. in Ireland;
John D. Cribb son 2yrs. in Broughton, Lancashire,Eng.
Could some kind person check later census for me? I know this John Cribb's wife Helena was still living in Ireland in circa 1902; as at that time a grandson & grand daughter were sent to live with her there, when their Mother [ Helena M. ] & her husband died in Venice. The Grandson was my father-in -law, who was never aware of a grandfather Cribb. Why was he living in Eng., having their 2yr. old son living with him, while his wife lived in Ireland with their 6 yr. old daughter ? So many questions yet to solve. I would appreciate any help on this family. Ida
