Subject: [Cork] Teachers & schools: 1840s

Is anyone able to tell me if there are any sources listing schools and/or
teachers in Co. Cork in the 1840s? I understand that education at this time
was often for a privileged few, especially in the 1840s.
However, I have a marriage of a teacher in Rathcormac 1846 and would like to
see if I could track down more information.
His father is described as a merchant on the marriage record. The bride's
father is described as a farmer.
I expect that a directory for Rathcormac, if such a thing existed at the
time, would be the source to look at, but I have no idea where I should be
looking.
Can anyone help please??
TIA
