<< Hello to all,
I know that there has been a blurb in the past about what Missing Friends is
about, and where it can be accessed....but I was not paying enough attention.
Would it be possible to re state it or send to me privately?
I am looking for information on HOGAN, WYNNE/WYNN/WINN, SHYNE/SHINE,
MALLOY/MILLOY families.
Take care, Margie Hogan, Ontario, Canada >>
I think I missed it too....please send it to the list again. Thanks!
I am researching the Hill family from Cork and Cloyne. Interested in John
Edmond Hill (who moved from Cork to Missouri sometime in the 1880's), his
parents John and Ann (?) Hill of Cork, John's parents Thomas Hill (of Cloyne
b. 1774) and Catherine Field (of Cork), Thomas' parents William Hill (of
Cloyne) and Jane Parkinson. (Jane was the daughter of Dr. Barton Parkinson
and Ellen Goold. Ellen was the daughter of Michael Goold Esq. and Alice
Ronderlet [or variant spelling, as she was the daughter to a French Huguenot
defector]) I do not know who William Hill's parents were and would be
interested in finding out who they are. I also am looking for more
information on Catherine Field and the woman whom John Hill married, Ann,
which I do not have a maiden name for. I do know that Thomas Hill (b. 1774)
was an architect, as were his sons William and Henry. Thomas also had a
grandson William (son of William) who was also an architect as well as
Henry's son Arthur. This grandson William was born in 1837 at No. 22 Georges
Street in the old city of Cork and later lived as a child (after the death of
William's father, William) in the house No. 1 Patrick's Hill, which was later
called Ard Patrick (in 1910 anyway).
Most of this information comes from the family story documented in 1910 by W.
H. Hill, who was the cousin to my great great grandfather John Edmond Hill,
Sr.
Blessings to all,
